Journey

"During our 40 years in Africa we developed a deep respect for nomads; their resilience and ability to survive in the harshest areas of the world. They may be technologically backwards but socially have much to teach the Western world. We started the Nomadic Peoples Network to encourage Christian ministry to all those who are marginalized because they are nomads. We invite others with a heart for such people to join us."

Get to know us

It started with an engineer and a nurse and a journey from England, across Europe, and Africa into the world of nomads. The challenge was proposed by a Somali leader: "When you can put your church on the back of our camels, then we will know that Christianity has something for us!"

If the "church" is people in community with a sense of mutual love, respect, and responsibility following Jesus, the Good Shepherd, then of course we can put it on camels, horses. We can even be "Walking Worshipers".

Come and learn the nomadic way of doing church with us.

Let Nomads Move You!

Most of the Bible was shaped in mobile, clan-based, relational cultures—yet we often read it through settled, individualistic eyes.

Let Nomads Move You! is a guided digital course that helps you see Scripture, faith, and community through a nomadic lens. Drawing from lived experience, biblical narrative, and voices from nomadic peoples around the world, the course gently challenges assumptions many of us didn’t even know we had.

You’ll learn why mobility is more than movement, why belonging matters more than programs, and why nomadic cultures often hear the Good News in ways others miss.

This course is the starting point for anyone who wants to understand nomads—and be changed by what they discover.

Connect in Community

Our Nomad Tribe

Our Nomad Tribe is a private learning community for those who have begun the journey through one of our courses. It brings together active students, alumni, and carefully selected mentors who walk alongside others with humility and experience.

Mentors in this space are either nomads themselves or have spent a decade or more learning among nomadic communities. All are committed to following Jesus, the Good Shepherd, within the cultural worlds they serve.

This is a place for asking real questions, listening deeply, and being shaped in community—long before stepping onto the ground. Because understanding nomadic life isn’t just about knowledge; it’s about learning how to belong, move well, and honor the communities who invite us in.

This mutual learning community is currently offered as a free add-on to the Let Nomads Move You! course.

Connect on the Ground

Nomadic life can only be truly understood by walking it out—on the ground, in community. But nomads deeply value their own autonomy. You can’t simply arrive and expect access to their world.

Yes, nomads are often generous and welcoming. You may be offered tea, a meal, or even a place to sleep. But meaningful relationship and long-term presence almost always require introduction—by someone trusted by both you and the community.

That’s where the Nomadic Peoples Network comes in.

We help make careful, relational introductions—but only after you’ve taken time to learn, listen, and prepare. This begins with one of our digital courses and continues through active participation in Our Nomad Tribe, where learners interact with experienced mentors—both nomads and long-term practitioners.

From there, we walk with you through a discernment process: where to go, when to go, and how to engage in ways that honor nomadic communities and their values.
